Old
News!
03/14/04
Well for once my update has almost nothing to do with translations!
The last chapter of Furuba was weeks ago and we still have weeks
to go before the next chapter. I finally got around to adding links
to Shadow's translations, but I think everyone knows the link to
her site by now. ^_^ So I concentrated on other things this update.
First of all I updated the Fan
Audio section with the last two parts of R. Junkie's 'I Promise'
audio drama performed by Ina-chan. I also put up the 'blooper reel'
she put together after the production! Check 'em out, Haru's off-key
singing is a hoot! Also in the audio
section I added scans of the drama CD booklet (actually housed
in the gallery)
and Shadow's translation of the data from the booklet. It's chock
full of little antedotes of Takaya's of how she came up with characters
like Hana and Tooru and Momiji. Really interesting stuff! On the
con news front, I've FINALLY added
the pictures I took of cosplayers at Katsucon 04. There aren't
a whole lot, but the ones I got were pretty good. ^_^ If you were
at Katsucon 04 and I didn't get a picture of you or your cosplay
group please send me a picture and I'll add it. Or you can upload
it yourself to the gallery. A nice group from Otakon 03 sent me
a group picture which I only now finally got up. ^^; It's a nice
shot though! Also in the gallery I updated the merchandise section
with more images of the fun stuff that's available for fruits basket.
That's everything for this update. I'll try to make the next one
sooner.
02/12/04
Hey all, no real update, but I thought I'd just mention that I'm
heading out to DC today so I'll be all set for Katsucon. ^_^ If
anyone else is going, stop by my table in Artist Alley. ^_^ If you
stopped by and are now wondering where are the 'custom buttons'
hang on! I'll have 'em up soon!
02/01/04
Wow, over a month since I've updated? I'm slipping! ^^; Well, to
make up for it I have an extra large update for you all! Let's start
off with Shadow's usual hard work, I've got links to 3 new
translations by her (chapters 86, 87, and a new translation
of chapter 29). That's it for translations this update, but then
there hasn't been all that much to translate. To make up for it
I've got a lot of *other* fun stuff to give to you all. I've added
a page on the English release
of the Fruits Basket Manga. We've got an update to the Fan
Audio section, Ina-chan and R. Junkie have given me permission
to host the audio drama "I Promise" that has been airing
on J-Mix's Fan Corner. For those of you who have missed out when
they originally aired now is your chance to check out this great
story! (Don't forget to tune into J-Mix's normal broadcast Mondays
5-6:30 at mediatalks.com.)
There is a fun new toy on the fanstuff page, now you can get your
denpa (waves) read by Hana-chan.
Have a question to ask, ask and let her tell you your future. Also
in the fan section there are
two new wallpapers and a screensaver
up for download. I'm really super proud of them, as it's a completely
original creation. I drew every single zodiac member, Tooru, and
Hana and Uo. Whew, that was a lot of work. ^_^ Then I made a screensaver
out of the drawings using "Serenade" as the background
music. I'm really happy with the result so I hope you all enjoy
it too. If you like the artwork I finally got around to making that
Fanart Calender, it's available to buy
in my store.
12/21/03
It's been a while since my last update, but this time I've got lots
of goodies to share. ^_^ First, we have some exciting news! Thanks
to Linnie-san and Ina-chan I've been able to mark of volume 5 with
a red check mark. Yup! Volume 5 is now completely translated! Linnie-san
provided us with a translation to chapter 26, and Ina-chan let me
use her translations for chapters 28 and 29. Not only does that
complete volume 5's translation but it also means there are only
*2* chapters left that need translations, chapters 38 and 44. Yay!
Shadow's kept up her hard work too, providing us with both a translation
to chapter 85 and translation of a summary for chapter 86. All that's
on the Manga Stuff page.
Besides giving us two translations, Ina-chan has also provided us
with a whole new section! On her weekly radio show, J-mix on mediatalks.com
Ina-chan has a special segment called "Fan Corner". It's
a place for people to send in Karaoke recordings of themselves,
remixed songs, rants, poetry and fanfiction. This past month she's
devoted to a performance of my fanfiction "Gifts", a holiday
Fruits Basket story. Seperated into 4 parts, it's really a lot of
fun to listen to. It's performed by Ina-chan and her sister Jessie-chan
is really well done. If you missed hearing it on J-Mix, you can
now download and listen to it here, in the brand new Fan
Audio section. Like all other sections, this is open to everyone.
If you want me to host something of yours, please just let
me know.
I've also finally gotten around to putting up a section thats been
on my to-do list forever. I've added a section in the gallery devoted
to doujinshi. In it I've scanned covers and given short descriptions
to a bunch of different doujinshi. I know a lot of people who'd
like to get doujinshi, but since the covers really don't tell you
much are afraid to bid or buy. Hopefully this will help a little.
You can take a look at it in the gallery.
I've also managed to get the okekai working again. Well, mostly.
There is an error message that shows up on the side of the screen,
but you can draw on it without problems. ^_^
11/25/03
Another small update, but paired with the little one from a couple
weeks ago (that wasn't publized so well) it makes for a bigger one.
First of all, thanks everyone who let me know that the videos from
the last update weren't working. They are now. I've gotten them
re-uploaded and now they're all set
to go. Sorry for the trouble!
Linnie-san has kindly come through with more goodies for us ^_^
She's provied alternate translations for two Fruits Basket songs,
"For Fruits Basket" and "Chiisana Inori (Small Prayer)".
This is especially cool in light of the fact that the Pioneer is
releasing the Soundtrack album "Memory for You" on Febuary
17, 2004. Besides the lyrics I've also put up a preorder link for
the album. ^_^ Now you can enjoy listening to the soundtrack at
the same time as reading the english version of the manga! Too cool
^_^ Check them out in the Audio
Stuff section.
There is the obligitory update to the translation tracking page.
Shadow has graced us with another great translation, providing us
with chapter 83. Arashidono has translated the most recent and bombshell
of a chapter, chapter 84. Sweet! She'd translated it almost as soon
as it came out, it's almost like being in Japan! Check it out on
the Manga stuff page.
Also, I don't usually promote my ebay sales but I've got a one of
a kind item up right now that I think some people here might be
interested in. I've
got a hand painted junninshi figurine set up. Even if you aren't
interested in bidding, it's the only place to see pictures of it
right now. Please give
it a look-see and tell me what you think. Here's the address:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3256107528&category=1345&rd=1
11/06/03
I've got a small update to share with you, but a fun one. ^_^ A
new translator has broken onto the scene, Linnie-san! She's translated
chapter 19 and chapter 20. Not only are these two of my favorite
chapters, it now means that volume 4 has a nice big red check next
to it. Yup! That means this volume is completely translated! Now
maybe if we all thank her enough she'll finish up that gap in volume
5 too ^_~. Head on over to the manga
stuff page to read her translations. Also, I have a special
and very unusual treat! Ina-chan has provided me with a video tape
of her cosplay team's Junninshi Dance sketch from CN Anime '03.
Its a very clever sketch and really neat to watch, I thought it
was so neat that I encoded it and am serving it up in two formats
for everyone to see! ^_^ I've got it in a higher quality AVI and
a lower quality but easier to download .WMV. Check it out on the
Fan Stuff page. Also, the music
video page has been updated. All links should now work, and I added
a link to one of my Fruits Basket Music videos that was previously
unlinked. (That's also in the fan stuff section. ^_^)
10/26/03
Well, the server move is 99% done. Yay! Just about all links and
images should be completely operational. If you find something is
missing, please let me
know! The 1% I'm still waiting on is my domain randomfandom.org,
it is still not poiting to the updated servers. For the most updated
info, please go to randomfandom.com!
Now on to what you really care about, the updates! I've got a nice
selection of stuff for you this time. Shadow's been busy, busy,
busy! She's translated not only chapter 82, but several older chapters
as well. Ziggy of Chiisana Inori has also stepped up with a new
chapter, and I found another chapter by a new translator Bacon Wafer.
Arashidono summarized chapter 83, keeping us nice and current. In
fact, so much has been translated for Fruits Basket, that I've marked
volumes that have been completely translated with a red checkmark.
Many of the missing translations have summaries, there actually
only a handful of chapters that have nothing available. How cool
is that?! Check out the Manga Stuff
section to see. (I've also added some preorder links for the english
version of the manga there too.)
Besides the translations of the chapters, Shadow has also completed
her translation of the Fruits Basket Audio drama. We now have a complete
translation of all tracks. Not only that, but she nicely provided
us with screencaps of a working Nagashi Soumen so we can see what
all the fuss is in the drama. The story is really funny and cute
and I suggest everyone check it out! You can find that in the Audio
Stuff section.
10/01/03
BIG NEWS! Randomfandom is in the process of switching
servers! Currently all links work under the domain randomfandom.org,
I'm still in the process of getting everything working under the
randomfandom.com domain. If you are having problems accessing an
area of the site, try getting to it through the randomfandom.org
address!
09/22/03
It's been a while, and I've got lots and lots of stuff to share.
First off a bit of bad news. My host, infinology.com, has somehow
managed to get itself labeled as a possible spam-source with yahoo.com.
What that means is that all my emails to yahoo.com and yahoo.ca
have been bouncing back to me for the past couple of weeks. That
includes automatically generated things like registration acceptances
to the Oekaki board, Gallery,
and Forum. If you registered for one of these
services and didn't get your acceptance, please email me at my alternate
address of merrow@redbutterfly.net
so I can manually add you. Hopefully I'll be able to get this
cleared up soon.
Now onto the good news. More translations! Not only has Shadow added
no less than 4 chapter translations, 1 chapter summary and 2 more
track translations of the CD Drama, but I've found two new resources
for the early books. Kaitou.net has the first two chapters of the
first book and Fruits Basket Translations has all of books one and
two translated. Head on over to the Manga
Stuff and Audio Stuff sections
to see.
I've had several requests looking for what kind of Furoku, Zen-in
Items and Retail stuff is out there for Fruits Basket. To this end
I've started a new section in the Gallery
where I've scanned in some of what I have. I'll be adding more as
time goes along so keep checking back. People are welcome to add
any I don't have as well. I've also updated the store
where I sell items I've designed myself, now all the pages actually
work. ^^; So if there had been something there you'd wanted before,
now you can actually see the item close up if you want to. I've
got several handcraft items that I haven't added in yet, but hopefully
shall have up by the end of the week.
09/02/03
Well, it's been only a couple weeks, but I've got a bunch of new
stuff to announce! ^_^ Firstly, it's been a bit slow on the translation
front, but there are two new links in the Manga
Stuff page. But I do have a completely different kind of translation
to add, this one in the Audio Stuff
section. Shadow has been busy, and has donated translations
for the first two tracks of the Furuba Radio Drama. Check
it out, it's such a cute story! Also, I FINALLY got all my Shoujocon
pictures up in the gallery. I have cosplay
pictures, masquerade pictures and also the disturbing Shigure "Wack-a-thon"
pictures. He didn't deserve it I tell you! I also discovered that
my links directory wasn't working! Why didn't anyone tell me? Well,
I made an even better one thats even easier to submit links to...
now you all have no excuse... add your links!
And if you've just been dying for a place to chat about all this
furuba stuff, check out the brand new forum
I've set up! Talk about Furuba with other fans, or anything else
you like! Lots of stuff happening, but it'll be even better if all
you visitors join in!
08/14/03
Yay! A real update! Okay, it's a small one, and in progress still.
I've gotten up my Otakon 2003 cosplay pics. I've titled them all,
but I plan to write comments too. They're all in the gallery, if
you've got cosplay pics to contribute, feel free to upload them!
I've also finally updated the Fruits Basket Resources page with
some new translation and summary links. I've been jotting them down
for a while, and I still have a few to add, but I have enough that
I wanted to get them up for everyone to enjoy. Head on over to the
"Manga Stuff" page to check it out. I still have to add pictures
of the merchandise I got at Otakon (fan and commercial). Be on the
look out for pictures of the plush I made as well, I'll be getting
those up in the next few days hopefully. ^_^ Enjoy!
08/11/03
Not quite and update, but news for those of you who might have seen
me at Otakon. If I took your picture, don't worry I will be putting
it up soon! It was a borrowed camera and the person who lent it
to me forgot to give me a cable so I can't download the pics from
the camera yet. I should have them up by the end of the week. If
you want me to email you when they're up, just shoot me an email
with "otakon pics" in the title and I'll be glad to do
so.
For those of you who were disappointed that I sold out of my magnets,
keychains, stickers and stuff at Otakon, I'm hard at work making
more. I've got some stuff up in my store
and I'll be adding more in the next few days. I'm open to requests
and commissions, just email
me.
07/13/03
Well, it's been about a month and a lot has happened. ^_^ The Fruits
Basket Manga has been liscensed by Tokyopop. Read their press
release for more details. In light of that news, I've removed
all scanlation links from the Fruits Basket Manga
Stuff page. I don't think that text translations or summaries
will really impact on the sales of the manga when it is released,
so I've decided to leave those up. In fact I've added to them. I've
added a new resouce, Chiisana Inori which has translated the first
17 chapters of the manga. I've also added some links to other summaries
and translations. I've also got something new and exciting to add
to the Audio Stuff section.
Shadow has kindly translated the Fruits Basket Audio Drama. It's
a cute fluffy story that I encourage everyone to read. ^_^ I also
added a new feature, the Fruits Basket Oekai Board.
If you've never tried it before I encorage you to give it a shot,
it's lots of fun. There are a lot of cool links in the link
directory, but new submissions have really slowed down. I know
more of you have pages out there, why don't you add
them?
06/15/03
I'm doing pretty well, another update in just about a week. It's
another small one, but I figure it's better to have a lot of small
updates than to sit on things until it's a big update, right? Anyway,
added two new translation links by Shadow on the Manga
Stuff page and one new summary link. Added a wallpaper to the
Fruits Basket Wallpapers on
the Fan Stuff page using an
image from the latest chapter of Fruits Basket. I also tried something
new and made a winamp skin using the same image. That's available
on the desktop toys page
in the Fan Stuff section (mainly
because I couldn't think of where else to put it). If
you haven't yet, I encourage you to check out the Fruits
Basket Links section. People have been great about adding links
into it, so you should take some time and vist them. Its still got
a long ways to go though, keep adding your links!
06/08/03
Another small update. This was mostly an organizational update.
The Manga Stuff page was getting
a bit hard to update, so I broke up by volume. Also, a while ago,
Ina-chan gave me permission to host her translations. So instead
of linking to the FruityGroup message with the translation I've
instead got them linked directly off my page. In doing so I found
one that I didn't have any record of, chapter 24. ^_^ A hidden gem.
There is just one scanlation update, Mangaproject came out recently
with chapter 26. I added a new section to the site, one that needs
a lot of support from you visitors. I've added a fruits
basket links directory. It's mostly empty right now, but with
a little help I hope to make it one of the most comprehensive directories
to fruits basket links out there.
05/28/03
A small update this time, but fitting since it's only been about
10 days since my last update. As usual the scanlators and translators
have been busy. I've got two hosted chapters of volume 8 by CresentJoy
to share, Eden has another update in volume 10, and Shadow's been
her busy self and translated a summary of chapter 75 as well. All
are available in the Fruits Basket Resource
section, on the Manga Stuff
page. I've also updated the Anime Stuff
page with more info on the english voice actors and information
on the last and final DVD, the Clearing Sky. (No easter eggs that
I could find... but there were some cool extras). Enjoy!
05/17/03
Lots of stuff has been added to the Fruits
Basket Resource section (as usual ^_^). I've added a Lyrics
Section to the Audio Stuff
page. I've also added a new section into the Fruits Basket Fan
Stuff page, a section for desktop
toys like screensavers, window sitters and screenmates. Right
now all that's there is a pretty darn nifty screensaver I made.
Along with the screensaver is a new matching wallpaper in the wallpapers
section. There was also, of course, the obligitory update to
the Manga Stuff page. With no less
than 5 links to new Furuba chapters to boast of, it's a pretty large
update for the span of time since my last update. I don't know about
you all, but *I* am pretty darn pleased.
04/21/03
Small updates have been added around the site. The Fruits
Basket Resource section now has a new page devoted to the audio
side of Furuba. The Audio
Stuff page has info on all the music CDs as well as what little
I have so far on the drama CD. I've also updated the Fruits
Manga section, as usual. ^_^ There is a new scanlating team
on the block FC Translations! They've got two chapters out so far.
Eden has been keeping busy, finishing up vol. 9. Links are on the
manga page as usual. I've also updated the seldom 'blurbs'
section, adding in a two pages of one
line reviews of a whole bunch of anime titles. If you're wondering
whats on board next for RandomFandom, you can check out the new
'site to do' list I've put
up. I'm always open to suggestions,
if there is something on the list you'd like to see first or something
you'd like to see me add, be sure to let me know.
03/31/03
Twice in one month that I rememberd to update the main page. ^_^
I added a new scanlator with seveal chapters of volume 9 and 10
up for download in the Fruits Manga
section, the translators are working fast these days, the latest
chapters of Hana to Yume are getting translated within days of them
coming out. (So cool!) I've also completely revamped the section
on where to buy fruits basket stuff, including a link to stuff made
and designed by me. If you're interested in other stores, check
out the "Buy Stuff" page.
I've also updated the information on the English
release of Fruits Basket, including info on the easter egg on
disc 3.
03/06/03
Yay! I remembered to update the main page! Go me! I added a whole
bunch of new links on the Fruits Manga
section, including links to a new scanlator. (Translators are working
so fast these days, I can hardly keep up!) I also added a new chapter
to my fanfiction,
Discoveries. There is a new Shigure Wallpaper in my wallpapers
section. I also added my most recent music video to my music
video downloads. It's a Kagura-centric video, I hope you all
enjoy it.
02/13/03
Well, once again I'm guilty of not updating the main page while
I've been busily maintaining and updating the rest of the site.
I can't even begin to remember all the updates I've done so I'll
start with the most recent. I've just added the "Custom
Plush" section to my site. There you'll find what plush
I've made, how to buy a pattern to make your own, or how to commision
a plush from me. I've also updated the Fruits
Basket Resource Section. I added info on the first two English
language releases, including English voice cast listing, DVD
egg and extras info and preorder links for the rest of the disks.
I've also completely revamped the Fruits
Manga section's style to make it more readable and understandable.
I've also been mainting my blog a
bit better as well so it might actually be worth it to check it
out
09/16/02
Jeeeze, looking at the main page you'd think I hadn't updated since
June! Actually I have been making steady updates to various sections
of the page, I just keep forgetting to note it here. Anyway, I've
once again updated the Fruits Basket Resource
section, adding the Anime stuff section,
adding episode summaries,
Japanese release info,
and Funimation release info,
I also added several links to the Manga
Stuff page. 05/01/02
Lots of stuff to talk about this time. I'll try to keep it short
and too the point.
Updated the Penny Jar page, updated
and expanded the Downloads section
to include all the wallpapers and
music videos I've made. I updated
the Fruits Basket Resource section again,
finally adding the Fan Stuff
section as well as updating the Manga
Stuff. I've also added a weblog,
but there isn't much there yet.
02/10/02
Finally updated the
project pages. Added a link to some great information from Libby,
and made a page detailing some of the possibilities for producing
Drama CDs. Go have a look,
then feel free to comment
on it!
01/29/02
Updated the manga and shopping pages in the fruits
basket resources page *again*. Belinda from the Fruitygroup
ML provided me with a bunch of new shopping links. And the translators
of the Furuba
project are moving so fast I can hardly keep up with them. As
usual, the people of the Fruitygroup ML are cranking out summaries
and translations as well. Cool stuff all around!
01/17/02
Updated the manga and shopping pages in the fruits
basket resources section. Added my fruits basket music video
to the downloads section.
12/23/01
I've added the fruits basket resource
page to the site. I hope my fellow fruits basket fans find it very
useful. ^_^
