Chapter 24 Translation by Ina-chan!

This translation is only for individual use. Do not use this translation in any public format or scanlation project.

The anime follows the manga almost verbatim in this chapter, 'cept for the Kyou parts and the parts relating to the red cap boy storyline... I'm not going be descriptive, 'cause I'm assuming you got the manga on hand...

CHAPTER 24
by Ina-chan

p. 164

Narration: This feeling? What is this attraction.

p. 165

Kyou: It's a small temple, isn't it.

Tooru: Yes.

Yuki: It has a "homey" atmosphere. I like it.

Kyou: To request to go to a temple such as this...

Tooru: Eh? Is that strange?

Kyou: ...nothing. It's fine.

Yuki: But, I'm glad that the weather is good. I was a little worried for a while.

p. 166

Tooru: Mom would be so delighted. Because everyone came to visit her.

Kyou:......

Yuki: Uotani-san and Hanajima-san went to the grave ahead of time, so they must be waiting for us

Tooru: Yes, surely they...

Arisa: TOORU

Tooru: Ah

p. 167

Arisa: Ouuusss, it's a great day for a grave visit, ne

Tooru: Yes.

Kyou: WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU BOTH WEARING---!!

Arisa: What's wrong with it?

p. 168

Saki: I thought something plain would be enough...

Kyou: THAT'S NOT!!!

Yuki: Uotani-san... doesn't that tokkou fuku (Ina-chan: a special uniform worn to identify your gang membership)... stand out...

Arisa: Ah, you do know a lot. This is Kyoko-san's true history. Akai Chou's (Ina-chan: Red Butterfly) commanding leader tokkou fuku

Yuki: Akai... chou

Tooru: Mom's name and title when she was leader of a gang

Yuki: [thinking] Leader of a gang... and she's smiling

p. 169

Arisa: Our honour is at stake, let's go quickly!

Yuki and Kyou: [thinking] They're cheerful about it. I think they're cheerful about it.

Yuki: It's already clean

Kyou: Who would come to do that.

[Family marker: Honda]

Tooru: Are......? Surely it must be grandfather. Grandfather knows what Mom likes to eat.

p. 170

Yuki: Gra...? Ah, him...

Tooru: Yes

Yuki: Whose father is your grandfather?

Tooru: My Dad's father

Arisa: [thinking] Kyoko-san was estranged from her parents

Yuki:...... Your father, what happened to him?

Tooru: He caught a cold... it would seem. I was still little so I can't remember well.

p. 171

Yuki narration: [flashback to chapter 13] Ah, so that's why... the reason at that time...

Tooru flashback: "Th-that's terrible. So you have a fever!?"

Tooru: Well then, Mom, we came.

Saki: We came.

Arisa: The old man did a good job cleaning.

Yuki: ......

Yuki narration: Her father is dead. Her mother is dead. ......so how is it

p. 172

Yuki narration: How come from that gloomy and shadowed trap, still, she always smiles. She continues to be cheerful. I remember the day of the accident. A teacher came in the middle of classwork to call a girl. After a short conversation, she rushed out of the classroom. The girl's two friends quickly followed. At first, the classroom became noisy, and inside 'One of that person's relatives must have had an accident' I thought lightly back then.

p. 173

Yuki narration: I took lightly her existence back then. "Honda Tooru" was just some other person.

Yuki: [thinking]...to name her

Yuki narration: Now, living in the same house, getting closer

Tooru: Yuki-kun, please look at these. They're splendid flowers, aren't they?

p. 174

Yuki narration: Laughing together by my side. How mysterious. It's really strange. This feeling.

p. 175

Saki: Arara, since everything is all clean

Arisa: Thanks to the help of the old man.

Tooru: Yes.

Saki: Do you need help...

Arisa: It's fine... you're too slow in offering

Kyou:...... Hanajima. You... ....that. The shape of a person's soul, can you really see it.

p. 176

Saki:....... I don't know what you think I see. I don't have reikan (Ina-chan: sacred intuition)

Kyou: Ha? Then what about the denpa...

Saki: Denpa and reikan are entirely different things. Denpa results from a person's thoughts. Through the ears, words resound directly to the brain, such is like denpa...

Kyou: You don't have to explain it.

Saki: ...what is the reason for that question of yours...

Kyou: ...nothing. Somehow, it's not significant.

Saki: ......

p. 177

Saki: Eventually, a living person's is strongest... Denpa would be the same. A dead person's denpa would be very weak. Now, the thoughts of a living person had been strong since this morning... still... sou... Your denpa is resounding. Why is that? Does standing in front of this grave cause you to have regretful feelings?

p. 178

[Kyou spins around to look at Saki in shock]

Saki: ...... Chaos.

Tooru: Kyou-kun? Is there something wrong?

p. 179

Kyou: It's nothing.

Arisa: Eeeh...

Tooru: Sou, well then... Ah. My two friends, please come over here.

Kyou: Ah?

Arisa: Snacks are ready.

Kyou: YOU SPREAD OUT A PACKED LUNCH IN FRONT OF A GRAVE---!!!

Arisa: Aaah? It's okay, Kyoko-san was delighted of noisy people.

Kyou: We could be seen from the temple gate

Arisa: It's fine, we'll simply apologize---

p. 179

Yuki: [thinking] But generally, this isn't... eating in front of dead person's grave, that is.

Arisa: First of all, sit down Kyon and be quiet.

Kyou: Fine.

Tooru: Kyou-kun, what would you want?

Kyou: I'm fine.

Tooru: Yes.

Yuki: Uotani-san and everyone had a good relationship with Honda-san's mom?

Arisa: Absolutely. Since before, I've treasured and aspired to her legend.

Kyou: Legend~~~

Arisa: That's the legend of Akai Chou.

p. 180

Arisa: As Kyoko-san's bike rolls by, looking like an extraordinary butterfly... her red tail lights...

Kyou: I get it already

Saki: This is delicious.

Arisa: You have no imagination at all

Kyou: Ah!?

[grave stone: Honda]

p.181

Arisa: Somehow, about those three, it's unexpected. Recently, they've become much closer. The aloof prince seemed to have disappeared. Kyon, somehow, does everything that Tooru tells him. It's comforting to see. One they, they might even proclaim their love for Tooru.

Saki: Ara, no. I won't approve of their company with Tooru just like that.

Arisa: Are you a mother-in-law?

p. 182

Saki: Maa, I was half-joking

Arisa: So you were also half-serious.

Saki: Souma Yuki and Souma Kyou are both still in confusion... chaos... pledges are impossible if they cannot separate from the dark shadows ruling their thoughts and their hearts... Each person has some aspect of it... but those two are categorized as serious wounds... Their thoughts are limited and have no room yet for love.
Moreover, saying things about those two is one thing. Leaving out the the matter of the second part.

Arisa: That they're living with Tooru. But, ma...

p. 183

Arisa: Meaning even though that they're all dense, such feelings begin to "bloom" without realization.

Saki: No way... thinking that Tooru would end up with someone... I'm going to cry...

Arisa: That's going too far.

Tooru: Tea is delicious on a tiring first day of the month such as today~~~ Ryaaa~~

p. 184

[Tooru at the engawa]

Tooru: But it was a fun visit today.

Tooru narration: I'm glad Yuki-kun and Kyou-kun were introduced to Mom... Mom... those two are always helping me. It would be good for you to meet Shigure-san as well. Mom, I'm living with them in this house. Everyday is fun and great. So don't worry mom, please watch over us.

p. 185

Tooru narration: Mom

Kyou: ...what the. Why is this octopus sleeping like this... Oi, you're going to catch a cold. A COLD. Hey, get up.

Tooru: Ah ha ha ha ha ha---- ha...

Kyou: [exasperated, thinking to self] ...... She sleeps like a little kid. Oi... [bends down over Tooru's sleeping figure]

p. 186

Kyou: I'm sorry... na...

[Yuki walking in the hallway to his room, sees papers strew form Tooru's open door]

Yuki: !?

p. 187

Yuki: [thinking] Ah...... the wind through the open window... [surprised look, sees the hat on the floor]

Yuki narration: Hat.

[flashback to Yuki retrieving Tooru's things from the landslide with the mice]

Yuki narration: ------... What's this hat. It wasn't there when I dug up her luggage from the landslide.

Yuki: [thinking, picking up papers] I better pick these up before it spreads more.

[Hand holding a piece of paper freeze in midair]

p. 188

[Yuki turns around, with a surprised look interposed with image of a child's foot walking on a street, a boy's hidden face smiling as he held the rim of a cap...]

p. 189

[...a little girl, hat falling off her head, as she runs toward her happy mother]

[Kyou looking down at Tooru's sleeping face tenderly]

Narration: This feeling. What is this attraction.

p. 190

[Kyou, brushing Tooru's hair from her face]

Narration: A heat's that undeveloped, now still asleep, a flower in the chest.
