Not all of us are able to get to our local anime conventions. Heck, a lot of us don't *HAVE* local anime cons. So its very possible that many of you have never experienced the convention staple of the Cosplay 'Masquerade'.

The name implies dressing up, which is a big part of it, but a Masquerade is so much more. Most are like a talent show, with the Cosplayers doing clever skits or singing songs in character. I've even seen some do comedy acts! They're great fun.

This past summer I was lucky enough to get one Fruits Basket cosplay skit from Otakon '03 on video. I'm still trying to get it off the dv tape and onto my computer, it's not working. -_- I'm about ready to take it to a local transfer place and see what they'd charge to transfer it to dvd or regular vhs, both of which I can capture easily.

At CNAnime '03, Ina-chan and her group performed another and sent me a recording. I'm proud to offer it here. ^_^ In both cases the videographers are amateurs and working in adverse conditions. It shows a bit. In some cases the dialouge is hard to hear. (Ina-chan was kind enough to provide a script for her skit). The skit has two versions for download, a high quality (or as high quality as possible considering the footage) .avi and a low quality .wmv.

I invite you to enjoy these as much as I did when I saw them.
