Chapter 1
Apparently it's the second summer since Tohru started living at Shigure's and a school day. It starts off with Tohru getting up in the morning and making breakfast when she decides to make another dish for breakfast when Kyo walks in. She ends up charring breakfast a touch when Shigure comes in and he says that even if she burned everything, Kyo would eat it all anyways. Yuki then gets up and is completely out of it as usual, and he goes to wash his face (goes in the wrong direction) and ends up walking right into a wall! Thanks to that and Kyo laughing at him, he wakes up and the two of them get into a fight. Shigure tells them that if they don't stop fighting, he'll kiss Tohru.

At school, since it's a short day, Momiji asks if Tohru's free for the rest of the day, but she has her job at night. So he asks if they can all have lunch together then which she readily agrees to. It seems Momiji wants to eat "nagashi soumen" which he'd seen on TV. So they talk to everyone (Yuki, Kyo, Shigure, and Haru) and they all agree. Saki makes a couple of appearances commenting about what goes well with soumen (using good clean water, adding wasabi to the soumen) but declines going as the day's denpa isn't very good.

(Short Talk 1)
A short talk about how radio is an audio only world. Using Kyo as a guinea pig, Shigure sends Kyo flying into Tohru's arms and he changes into a cat. However, since it's radio there's no real way to see Kyo's changed (no major poofs like the anime series).

Chapter 2
Kyo, Yuki and Tohru come back from the grocery store after buying the ingredients and soumen noodles. They then have to figure out how to make the slide for the soumen and decide to cut down some bamboo for it (after which they'd have to cut to shape as well) and Tohru gets a couple of cutter knives (x-acto knives) to do the job. You can imagine trying to cut something that's as hard as wood with a small x-acto!

While Tohru and Momiji are busy trying to cut down some bamboo, Haru, Kyo and Yuki are elsewhere looking for some more good bamboo to use. Haru suggests various shoots which are too fat or bent and finally he suggests an electrical pole! Kyo bugs Haru about it causing him to go Black and they fight. Kagura then makes an appearance tearing a path through the bamboo; Tohru and Momiji follow her path to see what's happening.

(Short Talk 2)
Kagura talks about how to make a small cat rucksack. Draw a picture, get the various materials together, put the cloth together, cut out the image and sew together. Kyo shows up during the explanation and asks what in all that racket is making a rucksack!

Chapter 3
Thanks to Kagura, they now have a good supply of bamboo that's been cut down, and only have to cut it to make then slide. Yuki tells Kyo he should also help out, but he's got Kagura stuck around his neck. Shigure comes having made everyone bamboo chopsticks and dishes while Momiji made a hose connected to the faucet. They work at it, but because they don't have good tools, it's taking a long time, so they decide to use the bamboo they've formed and use other items to make up the rest of the slide (if they kept going at cutting the bamboo, it'd probably take until evening or later).

(Short Talk 3)
Tohru has no idea what to talk about... Yuki, Kyo and Tohru try to think of something to talk about when Ayame shows up to help out... And asks, what he needs to do. Shigure then shows up and the two of them do their usual thing. Then Ayame has a question and is very serious. "Tohru has been living in that house for over a year now. So why hasn't there been a single scene where Yuki or Kyo accidentally ran into her in the bath?"

Chapter 4
And in the end, they end up with a slide that's about 30 m long! And they start the nagashi soumen... but someone has to send the soumen down from the other
end. Tohru volunteers, but both Yuki and Kyo argue against it since she was so looking forward to this. Kagura then volunteers to send noodles down the slide
first and they start to enjoy their lunch. Yuki's having problems grabbing the noodles so Haru gives him some noodles (taken from right in front of Kyo) and
Tohru also gives Yuki some noodles and then Kyo too. They continue eating when suddenly all the noodles stop. Everyone goes to see what happened to the
noodles when they run into Saki at the middle of the slide (it seems she's been intercepting the noodles; she even has her own chopsticks and bowl). Kagura
comes to see what everyone's about and meets Saki. Yuki volunteers to send the noodles down next but Momiji says no he want to do it. Yuki and Kyo aren't sure about whether he would do things properly so Saki volunteers instead whereupon both Yuki and Kyo beg Momiji to do it.

Momiji then starts sending things down the slide... Quail's egg, chocolate and finally he sends... a watermelon! A whole one. Whereupon the slide falls
to pieces. And everyone ends up eating soumen together inside instead.

After everyone goes home, Tohru, Kyo and Yuki take care of cleaning up. Yuki was happy that Tohru had fun with the nagashi soumen. When Tohru asks if Kyo had fun he says that if she had fun that was enough. Tohru apologises thinking that he didn't enjoy the day, but he says that's not what he meant. Tohru then asks him to do nagashi soumen again some day, and he says yes, if she wants to.

(Short Talk 4)
Saki sends denpa in thanks. Something may or may not happen. The results will be known in 3 days...
