Zodiac Introduction!
This is just a quick overview. You can get a lot more indepth then
I have here. For example, besides the 12 year animal cycle there
is also a 4 year element cylce that influences each year. (Each
year is either a Wood, Water, Fire, or Earth year). The year starts
on the Chinese New Year (which can fall anywhere from Mid-January
to Mid-Febuary) so if your birthday is early in the year you might
be the previous year's animal.

People born in the Year of the Rat are noted for their
charm and beauty. They work hard to achieve their goals,
to acquire wealth and are likely to be perfectionists.
They are thrifty with money. Rat people are easily angered
and love to gossip. Their ambitions are big, and they
tend to be very successful.
They are most compatible with people born in the years
of the Dragon, Monkey, and Ox.
